You are warmly invited to the 4th Digital Film and Screen Arts Alumni Event on Wednesday the 25th of January 2017. Graduates will be returning to UCA for networking and to offer practical advice, insight and inspiration to current DFSA students and others.

Cecilia Reed – YouTube series as Lady Rock, film screened at
Raindance 2016. Undertaking MsC in Science, Technology and Society at UCL
Anne Hawes who taught A level Digital Film at Portsmouth but
taking up a position as Outreach Officer at UCA from January
Nathan Scrimshaw
– graduated in
2003, and whilst continuing to follow successful careers in information systems
and libraries, is now an occasional Graduate Teaching Assistant on DFSA at UCA.

11am – Alumni guests will be talking about their careers and
introducing the various different paths they’ve taken since graduating at UCA.1pm – Networking lunch for alumni
2pm – The event divides into two streams, one for students contemplating setting up their own business, and the other for students looking to formal employment:
STREAM 1 ‘for
Self-Starters’ – In Conversation: Entrepreneurs on the sofa (W02)
Matt Fleming and Elliott Williams from Kode Media, Cecilia
Reed from Lady Rock and Lawrence Simpson from Team FourStar will be discussing
going independent and setting up your own company. Topics include starting up,
being self-employed, growing your business, and what happens next…
STREAM 2 ‘for New-Hires’ – Showreel/Portfolio
Review (R19)
Craig Bilham

and Tamara Lenz – Production Assistant (Kode Media) will be discussing the
route to employment.
4pm – Q&A, an opportunity for any questions arising
throughout the day to be addressed by a panel consisting of all the alumni
participants.5pm – Private View of ‘Seeds and Surveillance’ (work from year 2 Maps and Networks Project)
